WHAT IS FOCP'S AFFILIATE PROGRAM?
Did you know that 26% of Minnesota children live in food-insecure households? In school, learning often takes a back seat to hunger.
When students experience food insecurity on weekends and school breaks, it’s hard for them to learn in school. Hungry kids tend to have lower math scores, are more likely to repeat a grade, and are more likely to be suspended.
FOCP is committed to ending youth hunger.
Through FOCP’s Affiliate Program, we can reach more students and remove barriers to food security. FOCP acts as a conduit, partnering with specific schools or school districts to ensure K-12 students receive the fuel they need to thrive during weekends and school breaks.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Schools and school districts partner with FOCP to fund, collect, and distribute food packs to K-12 students in their communities.
In simple terms, FOCP is responsible for procuring and supplying food packs, while the Affiliate partner is responsible for funding and distributing them. But no worries, FOCP is here every step of the way to help out!
FOCP RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assemble and supply food packs
- Provide regular, dietary, and religious exemption offerings
- Coordinate and schedule with partners
AFFILIATE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Notify FOCP of food packs needed on a set schedule
- Pickup, store, and distribute food packs
- Act as the sole operator and funder
